Your Child's Nutrition: The Power of Parents

Parents should be positive role models for their children when it comes to nutrition. According to WebMD, even if one is overweight, one can still advocate a healthy lifestyle for his or her family if by trying their best to lose weight. The following source highlights how parents can model good nutrition for their children

            Hartford Courant-Family Exercise:
Staying Fit Together Can be Fun

In addition to maintaining a healthy diet, parents should exercise regularly. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that adults get at least 150 minutes of aerobic exercise a week while children and teens should do at least 60 minutes of aerobic exercise daily. Sadly, only 20% of adults and 25% of children meet these recommendations. Thankfully, the Harford Courant-Family Exercise source has recommendations from 6 different exercise experts on the types of activities that parents can do with their children. Such activities include yoga, rock climbing, biking, and hiking. You can also watch instructional videos on another tab for this website.
