Resources
The resources listed are designed to show the breadth of material relevant to understanding the intersection between fathers, and children, health and fitness. Popular press as well as more scholarly types of websites and magazines are represented here. (For scholarly books and articles, see References.) Because fathers are, by definition men, and fathers’ approach to health and fitness is often affected by their perceptions of what being a man means to them, I include some materials that speak directly to boys’ and men’s health needs. Mothers may find this information useful to the extent they are caregivers for their sons, husbands, boyfriends, brothers, and fathers. With a few exceptions, I list materials published in the past decade. Viewers should also go to the Updates page to see the most recent materials I’ve posted.
